These special purpose drills have been designed from the outset specifically for drilling of HRSA materials. Several important performance targets were set to be achieved before they were launched. The most important of these targets was tool life and reliability. To achieve this target, several features were built into the geometry, substrate and coating of the DSAS drills.

Mitsubishi Materials high performance, indexable tangential insert, milling cutter range, VPX200, has been expanded to include a brand new type of insert. The new insert, known as the L-breaker type will now be offered together with the existing M-breaker. Designed with a sharper geometry than the existing M-breaker, means it becomes the optimum choice for machining mild steels, stainless steels and aluminium, as well as titanium under stable machining conditions.
Mitsubishi Materials has opened a new technology centre - MTEC (Mitsubishi Technology & Education Centre) near Stuttgart, Germany. The new centre is housed in a modern two-storey building and was officially inaugurated with an opening ceremony on June 4th 2019.
